Setient Shortlisted at the Computing AI & Software Development Awards 2026
Two of our products have been recognised by the UK's most respected technology publication. Here's what this means for our mission.
The Recognition
We're proud to announce that Setient has been shortlisted in two categories at the inaugural Computing AI & Software Development Awards 2026:
- Doxi — shortlisted for Innovation of the Year (SME)
- PrivEdge — shortlisted for Edge/IoT Software Project of the Year
The ceremony takes place on 14 May 2026 at the Guildhall in London, alongside nominees from Lloyds Banking Group, Aviva, HMRC, Capgemini, SSE, and dozens of other organisations driving real-world impact through AI and software development.
Why This Matters
Computing's awards aren't a pay-to-enter list. They're judged by an independent panel of industry experts who evaluate technical merit, real-world impact, and innovation depth. Being shortlisted alongside FTSE 100 companies and major government bodies validates what we've always believed: that a small, focused team can build infrastructure that competes at the highest level.
But more importantly, these nominations recognise a philosophy — that AI should enhance human capability, not replace human judgment.
Doxi: Innovation of the Year (SME)
Doxi is our privacy-first document AI. What makes it different from every other document AI tool on the market comes down to two things: how documents are stored, and who controls when AI touches them.
The Problem It Solves
Law firms, NGOs, healthcare providers, and HR departments all handle deeply sensitive documents. Current AI document processing requires uploading your data to someone else's servers, where it's processed, indexed, and — despite promises — potentially accessible to third parties, subpoenas, or breaches.
How Doxi Works Differently
For storage: genuinely zero-knowledge. Documents are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before they reach Setient. Encryption keys are generated on your device and stored locally — never transmitted. Setient holds only ciphertext it cannot decrypt. We cannot read your stored documents. Not won't. Can't.
For AI analysis: user-controlled. When you want AI to analyse a document, you initiate it. The document is decrypted in your browser and sent for processing — you decide what gets analysed and when. It never happens automatically or in the background. No document content is retained after the session.
This isn't a privacy policy. It's an architectural guarantee — for storage specifically, and user-controlled transparency for AI processing.
The Value
- For law firms: Process client files and privileged communications without exposing them to third parties
- For NGOs: Handle confidential case files for vulnerable populations with cryptographic assurance
- For enterprises: Deploy document AI that's GDPR and HIPAA compliant by architecture, not by promise
- For nations: Keep sensitive government documents sovereign — processed on national infrastructure with zero data exposure
PrivEdge: Edge/IoT Software Project of the Year
PrivEdge AI is our hybrid edge-cloud inference system. It answers a question that every enterprise dealing with sensitive data eventually asks: How do I use cloud AI capabilities without sending my data to the cloud?
The Problem It Solves
Organisations in defence, healthcare, finance, and government want AI's capabilities but face strict data residency requirements. The choice today is usually binary: use the cloud and compromise sovereignty, or run everything on-premise and sacrifice capability.
How PrivEdge Works Differently
PrivEdge sits between your data and the cloud. It makes intelligent routing decisions: sensitive data stays local and is processed on your infrastructure using edge-optimised models. Non-sensitive queries are routed to cloud providers when their superior models add clear value. All of this is governed by configurable policies that you control.
The Value
- For defence organisations: Air-gapped deployments with zero external connectivity, meeting Category A clearance requirements
- For healthcare providers: HIPAA-compliant patient data processing where records never leave the facility
- For financial institutions: PCI-DSS and SOX compliant AI that processes transactions locally while leveraging cloud intelligence for non-sensitive analytics
- For governments: Sovereign AI infrastructure that keeps national data within national borders
What These Products Share
Both Doxi and PrivEdge are built on the same principle: AI should respect boundaries. Data boundaries, privacy boundaries, regulatory boundaries, and the boundary between machine capability and human judgment.
We call this harmonious intelligence — AI infrastructure designed so that every system it touches becomes more capable, without displacing what already works.
What's Next
The awards ceremony in May will be a milestone, but it's not the destination. We're continuing to invest in:
- Infrawise — our AI cost intelligence platform helping CFOs understand which models deliver ROI for which use cases
- OpenCredit — our open-source credit scoring system bringing financial access to 450M+ underbanked Indians through transparent, bias-audited algorithms
If you're building systems where AI needs to respect data sovereignty, protect privacy by design, or operate within strict regulatory frameworks — we'd love to talk.
